This session will provide attendees with critical information about protecting themselves and their association when litigation is filed. The speakers, both expert witnesses in the industry, will discuss what they look for in the preparation of their report so that attendees can be proactive in having the most important information documented and ready for when it needs to be produced. Starting with the timely notification of the association’s insurance carrier, the most important elements to writing an incident report and through the discovery process where documents are produced and depositions taken, best practices for helping your attorney create the strongest defense will be discussed. Our expert witness speakers are not attorneys and will not provide legal advice, but they have prepared hundreds of expert reports and will provide invaluable information on how an expert helps in the prosecution or defense of a claim.

Join us for a one-hour legislative update session as representatives from the New Jersey chapter Legislative Action Committee (NJ-LAC), will discuss legislative and regulatory issues affecting common interest communities in New Jersey.

This session will share the basics and best practices in safety, security and hospitality as they relate to the quality of community association living.

The CAI-NJ Annual Conference & Expo is attended by community association homeowners, including board members and committee members, as well as management companies and community association managers. CAI-NJ members and non-member homeowners and community association managers are welcome to attend. All business partner attendees must be exhibiting to attend the conference and expo.

This is a FREE event for all homeowners and community association managers. Included in your registration is access to over 160 exhibitors, complementary breakfast and lunch, educational programs, raffles and multiple chances to win $1,000 during the show (must be present to win).

We will have several educational programs throughout the day including a Legislative Action Committee (LAC) session. See above for a full list of programs, including topics of discussion and speakers.

The Conference Kick-Off will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Sheraton in Edison. All exhibitors are welcome to attend this networking reception (non-exhibiting companies are not eligible to register). Each exhibiting company will receive one discounted ticket at $75, additional ticket pricing is as follows:
